Assets
: "I believe that the most imp ortant assets I bring to my work are a strong foundation in the languages in which I work, and equally, if not more important, the background knowledge I bring to my translations, my ability to “see” into the mind of the writer of the text (often not a skilled wordsmith himself) and my ability to write good, clear English.

Apart from my ability to translate accurately my customers appreciate three things, and come back year after year:

Well-honed target texts: My translations are honed into more than a mere translation - rather a piece of copy that reads as if it had been drafted in English.

My attention to deadlines: In almost 21 years I have never missed a deadline.

My professional attitude: I do not take on more than I can do, and do well. I do not take on texts that are outside my fields. I make extensive, yet judicious, use of CAT tools and the research facilities available to modern translators – Internet and on-line specialist translator resources, I keep all work utterly confidential."

I keep up-to-date by undergoing a programme of continuing professional development.
