I completed the nine month course of learning with the Goethe Institut in Stuttgart. During 2011 and continued to organise many webinars on a very wide variety of subjects. This helps me to keep fully up-to-date with the latest trends. I attended the 11th Translation Conference at Portsmouth University.

I have embarked on a nine month course of learning with the Goethe Institut in Stuttgart. I have organised and attended many translation webinars on a very wide variety of subjects. This helps me to keep fully up-to-date with the latest trends.

2010

As part of my continuing professional development I have done the following:
Attended Southern Manufacturing Show, February 2010
Spoken to MA students in Translation at Portsmouth University, January 2010
Organised more than a dozen webinars on various topics of CPD for translators
Served on the Translating Division of the Chartered Institute of LInguists (until May 2010)
Given a talk on becoming a Chartered Linguist to the Regional Society in Manchester (June 2010)
 .... and I continue my programme of reading my subjects and languages

I contribute to my profession by moderating the very lively TransNet translators' forum on behalf of the Institute of Linguists, and serving on the Translating Division management committee.
I am also currently organising a series of "webinars" to help new entrants to the profession to be held on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, and am an occasional speaker at professional events and training courses.
